OFW MEDICAL CITY FOR LUZON, VISAYAS and MINDANAO
May I introduce my longtime dream for us OFWs? This was my advocacy since 2016; I did publicize my first draft on November 2018. I shared this advocacy first to POLO Labor Attaché Nasser Munder and Engr. Eli Mua and they agreed on this brainchild project for OFW I discussed this OFW Hospital when I attended the First OFW Summit held in TESDA Compound located in East Service Road, Taguig on January 2017. Some OFW Leaders that were already retired and still active in their advocacies, also agreed on this project, some of them were Sir Jun S. Aguilar, Ma’am Zeny Concepcion, Bong Guro, Sir Saga Micawayan, Francis Oca and former Cong. John Bertiz.
I also discussed this to my elementary classmate Use.c Nestor F. Quinsay of DILG. I gave a copy of my drafted OFW Hospital to him, wishing that it may reach the right authority and get the attention of our beloved President Duterte, thru sir Bong Go because he was his close friend in Davao. Looking onward this project will be accomplished during the President Duterte’s term. At last it will become a reality, the country’s first ever hospital dedicated to the medical needs of overseas Filipino workers (OFW) will soon be realized, as funding had already been allocated for the construction of the facility in Pampanga. The facility will rise in a two-hectare lot at the Provincial Engineering Office Compound in Barangay Sindalan, City of San Fernando that was donated by the Provincial Government. I am happy to hear this news.
WAO Foundation will do the same in parallel of this first ever OFW Hospital to be constructed soon. For this reason, I assigned Engr. Edwin Vergara and Arch. Ross Fernando as proponents of this project. They are in the move to do the feasibility study and almost done for their design and other documents and we will launch this next year to get funding from different investors (OFWs, former OFWs, Filipino and Foreign Investors). This project was renamed OFW MEDICAL CITY. The photo seen on this page is the original perspective design to be constructed in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
The construction of this new OFW MEDICAL CITY will be beneficial to all OFWs, former OFWs and to the poor Filipinos within the community as well. It will be a combination of a diagnostic facility, a wellness facility, and traditional medicine facility to promote tropical medicinal plants, a telemedicine with mobile clinic, and a facility that will pre-empt your illness before it occurs and to prolong the longevity of all patients. What unique in this hospital is the Wellness Center and Disease Prevention Program where Vitamins deficiencies diagnosis will be done and the adverse effect on health will be addressed and prevented with the care of competent and highly specialized physicians. In addition, a one of a kind feature is the Solarium Area where patient can bask on the morning sun in a controlled delightful environment while having breakfast or simply relaxing in an indoor garden filled with oxygen emitting plants.
